Richard Hart

Richard is originally from the UK, but got tired of the shocking weather and now lives on the beautiful island of Cyprus with his wife Anna and their two children, Alex and Sofia who are 9 and 6 respectively and are home educated.

He has another daughter Amy, who is 21, from his previous marriage, who lives in the UK.

Richard’s successful event management business of 15 years was brought crashing to a halt by COVID. This brought about the (slightly belated) realisation that despite having his own business, it was the only source of income supporting the family and it disappeared literally overnight. Richard then embarked on a journey of finding multiple sources of income that could be earned whilst home educating, as he firmly believes that multiple income sources = financial security.

Richard also believes that everyone should have the freedom to choose how they educate their children, but this freedom of choice is contingent on having the financial means to make that possible.

In January 2021 he set up The Home School Freedom Club to help home educating parents find the means to earn an income from home in order to enable them to educate their children at home if they wish and is on a mission to provide as many families as possible with the tools to work towards financial freedom.

This has morphed into a passion for helping equip young people with entrepreneurial skills for the future!

You can find Richard on Facebook at Homeschool Freedom Club!

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Are the sessions recorded?

No, the sessions are not recorded for three reasons.
    1. Safeguarding. We cannot check where the recording is shared once released to parents and with other peoples’ children in the recording this crosses safeguarding and ethical boundaries.
    2. Knowing it will not be recorded, students are more likely to ensure they attend which is crucial to the success of the course.
    3. Students are more likely to engage, share, and connect freely knowing that what is discussed in the group stays in the group.

Is there an online community or chat group for the students?

We are avoiding the use of social media platforms for the community as some of the participants are under the legal age for using social media platforms. Therefore with the parent’s permission we will create a WhatsApp chat for students only and another for parents only so that there is communication with both. Each group intake will have it’s own chat with no new people joining and no one added from other groups. This ensures privacy, confidentiality and trust.

We are launching a monthly membership in the coming months to serve our students better.  Here they will be able to continue connections with other course members and receive ongoing support from Richard and Michelle. It is the perfect Segway from the live course as it will ensure the provision of ongoing learning and support.

    Will there be homework?

There will be a task set each week to be completed in time for the next week’s lesson.  This task should take on average less than 30 minutes

    How long is each session?

We allow 2 hours for each session so that there are breaks and plenty of time for discussion and action.

What if they can't attend every session?

It is best to commit to the course only if you know that your child will be able to attend every session. As sessions are not recorded there will not be opportunity to catch them up and our experience shows it is highly unlikely they will catch up by themselves. Also, the sessions are very rich with teaching, interaction and support. Trying to catch up alone means not having access to those important elements.

How much do I pay if I have multiple children attending the course?

You will pay full price for the first child and 50% for additional siblings.

    Are there any payment plans?

Yes, you can choose to pay in full or over 3 monthly instalments.

Is there a money back or satisfaction guarantee?

When a customer enrols in a course, the payment of the course subscription is covered by a 14-day refund policy if the customer pays with a card or through PayPal.

The refund period always starts from the date and time of purchase.

EU customers accept that if they use the service by either signing into their account or in any other way accessing purchased material (such as attending live sessions) they lose their right to the default EU regulated cool-off period for digital services and instead refund periods specified above by Young Entrepreneur Start-ups apply.

    All crypto payments are non-refundable.

Should the course be cancelled by Young Entrepreneur Start-ups, then a full refund will be made available to everyone who has booked.

If the customer violates our terms and conditions by reselling or publicly sharing our content and intellectual property – we have the right to terminate the account of that user without refunding anything and pursuing copyright related legal action.

Can parents join in? I'd love to learn this stuff too.

Sadly no but if we get enough interest from parents who knows we may run one for them too!

We are going on holiday part way through the course, can my child skip some sessions and catch up?

It is best to commit to the course only if you know that your child will be able to attend every session. As sessions are not recorded there will not be opportunity to catch them up and our experience shows it is highly unlikely they will catch up by themselves. Also, the sessions are very rich with teaching, interaction and support. Trying to catch up alone means not having access to those important elements. If you are going on holiday perhaps you can plan a quiet space for those 2 hour sessions for your child to still do their session and then go and have fun!

Will we have access to the learning materials delivered in the sessions in case we need to go over them again?

Yes. All materials, workbooks, slides, notes, book/film recommendations and videos are posted in the student and parent WhatsApp chat after each session.

What age group is the course designed for?

13-17 years old bearing in mind it is up to you to gauge if your child is mature or able to handle this type of course. It isn’t about age but ability and readiness. Ask yourself and your child. Can they handle 2-hour sessions each week online (with breaks of course). Can they manage the content as per the module breakdown above? If the answer is yes, we would be delighted to have them onboard and promise to make it as engaging and fun as is possible.

What are the benefits of taking this course?

Your child will receive step by step teaching on every aspect of starting a business and making it successful. These are skills for life not just for childhood. It will enable them to start their business, to earn their own money, to start saving some of their money and to feel the satisfaction of being independent. They will be guided in real time by two coaches and nurtured to also develop personal habits for success.

What materials do I need for the course?

A note pad and pen, a device to access Zoom, a Zoom account, and possibly headphones to help focus during our calls if there is background noise.

Will my child receive a certificate for attendance or completion?

Absolutely. They will receive a printable certificate of completion.
